Police examine CCTV following armed robbery at a Birmingham bookies


CCTV being looked at after a gunman held up a William Hill bookies in Birmingham


CCTV is being examined by the police following an armed robbery at a Birmingham bookies.

The police are now looking for the gunman who held up the bookies in Birmingham and are hoping that CCTV footage will play its role in helping to find the culprit.

The man burst his way into a branch of a William Hill bookies, on Woodgate Lane, Bartley Green, in Birmingham. He pointed a gun, which was wrapped in a bin liner, at one of the members of staff and demanded cash.

The frightened member of staff handed the gunman an amount of cash before fleeing from the bookies on foot.

The incident happened at around 11.30am on Monday, February 13. The police are now appealing to the public for help and will be examining CCTV as part of their investigation.

The gunman has been described as black, of medium build and around six foot tall.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said that officers are carrying out house-to-house enquiries and will be looking at CCTV.
